While no one has ever commented on their relationship, Shakira, the retired footballer’s ex, did in a song released this month. She refers to the infidelities of her child’s father, plays with the Spanish words “pique” and “clara” and sings to her ex: “You exchanged a Ferrari for a Twingo, a Rolex for a Kasio”. In the chorus, she continues singing, “I was out of your league, that’s why you’re dating someone like you.”
Gerard Pique and Shakira announced their split last summer, after 11 years of dating and two children, Sasha, seven, and Milan, nine. Two months after their split, former athlete Clara kissed Chia Marti at a music festival in Catalonia, Spain.
