Following the release of Shakira’s song with BZRP, Gerard Piqué, 35, teased his exwife again this Sunday by showing up in a white Renault Twingo. The scene was captured as he arrived at Kings League Studios.
The stance is in response to a snippet from the song in which the Colombian singer says her exhusband “traded her a Ferrari for a Twingo”. The comparison refers to Piqué’s current girlfriend Clara Chía.
This is the second time the footballer has provoked his exwife. On Friday (13), the day after the song was released, Piqué appeared in a broadcast of the championship wearing a Casio watch.
Live, he pointed to his watch as he announced the company’s new sponsorship of the football competition and got everyone in the studio laughing. “Casio gave us watches. We have an agreement with Casio. The Kings League has reached an agreement with Casio,” Piqué said.
In the song, released Thursday (12), Shakira draws comparisons to her exhusband’s now girlfriend, saying he “swapped a Ferrari for a Twingo, a Rolex for a Casio.”
Shakira and Piqué dated 11 years and had two children, Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7. The divorce came last June after the singer found out she was cheating. In an interview with Elle, she defined 2022 as “a year she can hardly forget” and said she experienced the “darkest moment of her life.”
