German actor Christian Oliver, known for his roles in the films “Speed Racer” and “Saved by the Bell,” has died with his two daughters when a private plane crashed in the Caribbean, local authorities said.

The small plane crashed on Thursday “a few moments after take-off” in the sea near the island of Little Nevis in the archipelago of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, police said on social media.
“There were three passengers on board, namely: Mr. Christian Klepser (real name of the actor, editor's note) (…) and his two daughters,” the press release says.
Their bodies “were recovered from the aircraft by Coast Guard personnel and subsequently declared by a coroner,” police said. A post mortem is underway and an inquest has been launched.
The plane left the island of Bequia at midday and was supposed to fly to St. Lucia, according to police.
Christian Oliver was 51 years old and had numerous films and series under his belt in Germany and Hollywood.
He notably starred in the German series “Cobra Alert” and had supporting roles in major American productions such as “Speed Racer” and “Indiana Jones and the Clock of Destiny”.
