German magnate Schaller crashes in the Caribbean

German tycoon Rainer Schaller and his family go missing after a plane crash. A tourist plane with six people on board that was taking off from Chiapas in southern Mexico crashed in the Caribbean Sea off Costa Rica on Friday afternoon. On the plane were 53-year-old Schaller, his 44-year-old wife, two minor children, the 66-year-old Swiss pilot and a 40-year-old sixth passenger. So far, the unidentified bodies of an adult and a child have been found, as well as various items and parts from the crashed plane.

Schaller is the founder and owner of the fitness studio chain McFit, which is most widespread in Europe and also has many locations in Italy. At 6 p.m. on Friday, the control tower at Limon Airport in Costa Rica lost contact with the small plane.
