German minister Karl Lauterbach has a new girlfriend

Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has confirmed that he and author and journalist Elisabeth Niejahr are a couple. “I'm happy that Elisabeth Niejahr is in my life,” Lauterbach told “Bild am Sonntag”. Lauterbach, 60, has been married once. He has four children from this relationship and one from another relationship.

In March 2021, according to the report, he told “Bunten”: “I actually don't want to be single for the rest of my life. To be completely happy, I'm missing a loving wife.”

Niejahr, 58, worked for “Spiegel”, “Zeit” and “Wirtschaftswoche”, among others. She is the author of several books. She has been a board member of the Hertie Foundation since 2020.
