A team of German archaeologists has found a Bronze Age sword in a tomb in Nördlingen, southern Germany. The exceptionally well-preserved sword is 3,000 years old.

Kept in a tomb containing three people – a man, a woman and a boy whose connection is unknown – the sword has an octagonal hilt fused to the blade, suggesting the craftsmanship of its maker .
