According to an incident report from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Gervonta Davis allegedly hit a woman with a “closed-hand punch” on the right side of her head, leading to his arrest Tuesday afternoon in Florida.

According to the incident report, the woman, who does not live with Davis and whose name has been blacked out, suffered a small abrasion on the inside of her upper lip, on the right side of her mouth.

The 135-pound boxer was arrested Tuesday at 2:50 p.m. ET in Parkland, Fla., and jailed on one charge of domestic violence involving assault, according to records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis remains in custody after a court hearing Wednesday morning that set bail at $1,000, a prison official said.

According to the report, Davis was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the alleged incident.

Davis’ boxing promoter PBC declined comment.

Davis, 28, from Baltimore, is scheduled to headline a PBC on Showtime PPV event against Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 in Washington, DC. The fight is scheduled to kick off a superfight on April 25 in Las Vegas against Ryan Garcia.

According to court documents, Davis is scheduled to appear in Baltimore Circuit Court on February 16 for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run accident in November 2020. Davis is accused of fleeing the scene of the accident, which involved four people, including a pregnant woman. He faces 14 charges including failing to return immediately and remaining at the scene of the accident causing bodily harm. He is also threatened with a lawsuit.

He was previously charged in February 2020 in Coral Gables, Fla. with a misdemeanor allegation of hitting an ex-girlfriend. That case was dropped on December 13 this year, according to court records.

Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) is a former 130-pound defending champion.
