Get me out of here! : Alexandre Barrette apologized to Marianne St-Gelais – Showbizz.net

Last March we could see Marianne St-Gelais erupting on Sortez-moi d’ici!

In a very moving testimony, which you can view here, the Olympic athlete explained that the challenge she wanted to take on on the show was learning how to lose.

Host Alexandre Barrette teased the speed skater a lot during the season, particularly about her physical abilities. Shortly before her crying spells, she had competed in the Éboulement challenge and Alexandre had said in particular: “If I summarize, everyone has always made it in every round, the only loser is Marianne”.

In an interview with us the day after her elimination aired, Marianne St-Gelais explains the situation to us.

“What people don’t know is that Alexandre, I knew him from before Get me out of here! she says first.

“I know Alex has tremendous respect for athletes who are at… I can’t say ‘jealousy,’ but he would have liked to have been good at the sport and performed, so I knew it very well, although it was teasing and not malicious. It challenged me because with everything I’ve been through in the jungle, with all the hardships that followed one after the other, something inside of me still grew and eventually exploded. »

She adds: “Alexandre was the one who pushed the button a lot. In the end it was very friendly. His goal was not to hurt me. Him, he couldn’t have guessed either that I was wandering in my head. »

The statement by Marianne St-Gelais was well received by the co-moderator. “Alex took the time to get to camp before doing the other tests. He came to me to apologize,” she tells us. “He followed everything live from his hotel room. He really wanted to come to me to tell me that everything was very nice and friendly. »

We will see this meeting between Alexandre and Marianne in the backstage show that will air on May 21st.

Note that Marianne also explained to us why she tried harder than her colleagues at the camp, and also spoke about her “involuntary self-sabotage” during the final hardship. Read everything here.
