Get ready to see GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Parry Shen (Brad) in a whole new kind of role! Well, hear him anyway! The talented actor is lending his voice to a character in a new animated series! “I’m excited to finally announce that I’ll be voicing Weimin (a Komodo dragon) in the new Netflix series KUNG FU PANDA: THE DRAGON KNIGHT, and joining Jack Black’s return as the butt voice!” he shared on Instagram with a clip from the show. “Stream now!”
The latest series in the Kung Fu Panda franchise follows Po on his global quest for redemption and justice, which brings him together with an English knight named the Wandering Blade. This character is played by Rita Ora and James Hong reprises his role as Mr. Ping. As Shen mentioned, THE DRAGON KNIGHT is bringing back Jack Black to take the lead after Mick Wingert took over for two previous KUNG FU PANDA series.
Soap fans may know Shen for his portrayal of Brad Cooper on GH, a role he has played since 2013. But he’s also appeared on primetime shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and NCIS LOS ANGELES, as well as in films like Better Luck Tomorrow and Hatchet. He has also done extensive voice acting in video games such as Mortal Kombat X, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and Ghost of Tsushima alongside animated series such as DOC MCSTUFFINS.
And it’s good that we tell you that it’s Shen who does Weimin’s voice, because if you watch the clip above, you’d never know it was him. That’s talent! All episodes of KUNG FU PANDA: THE DRAGON KNIGHT are now streaming on Netflix, so check it out and keep watching GH to see what kind of trouble Brad gets into next!
