The alligator hunt lasted seven hours
The hunters have been identified as Tanner White, Don Woods, Will Thomas and Joey Clark. Woods described the sevenhour struggle to capture the animal as “mentally exhausting.”
“We tied him up eight or nine times and he kept fighting”, he told the Clarion Ledger. “He dove under and then jumped out of the water. He stayed under the logs. He knew what he was doing. The craziest thing is that it stayed in the same place,” Hunter commented.
The group managed to get the alligator onto their boat around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
We knew we had a giant alligator. We were amazed at the width of his back and the size of his head. To be honest it was surreal.
