Gigi Hadid has broken her silence on Hamas’ attacks on Israel, which killed at least 1,400 Israelis and Palestinians.
The 28-year-old supermodel, whose father Mohamed, 74, is of Palestinian origin, shared a post on Instagram in which she condemned the “terrorization of innocent people” as part of the Free Palestine movement and gave love and support to her Palestinian and Jewish friends.
Israel launched retaliatory strikes against Hamas after the militant group launched a series of attacks on Saturday that killed more than 1,000 people. This was the largest escalation in the region in decades.
Hadid wrote: “My thoughts are with everyone affected by this unjustified tragedy and every day this conflict claims innocent lives – too many of them children.”
“I have deep compassion and sorrow for the Palestinian struggle and life under the occupation, it is a responsibility that I carry daily.”
“I also feel an obligation to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have done before: while I have hopes and dreams for the Palestinians, none of them include the suffering inflicted on a Jewish person.”

Explanation: The 28-year-old supermodel shared a post on Instagram condemning the Free Palestine movement’s “terrorization of innocent people” and giving love and support to her Palestinian and Jewish friends
“Terrorizing innocent people is not in line with the Free Palestine movement and does not benefit it.”
“The idea that this is the case has fueled a painful, decades-long cycle of back-and-forth retaliation (no innocent civilian, Palestinian or Israeli, deserves to be a victim) and helps perpetuate the false notion that that pro-Palestine = anti-Semitic.”
“If you are hurting, as I offer my condolences today to my loved ones, both Palestinians and Jews, I send you my love and strength – whoever and wherever you are.”
“There are many complex, personal and valid feelings, but every person deserves basic rights, treatment and safety; regardless of their nationality, religion, ethnicity or place of birth
“I know my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many, but I always pray for the safety of innocent lives.”
Both Gigi and supermodel sister Bella Hadid, 27, are vocal supporters of the Palestinian cause and have taken part in marches and demonstrations.
In May 2021, Bella and Gigi caused a firestorm when they posted on Instagram that Israel was not a country, but a country populated by colonizers.

Bella published the cartoon series in which they called Israel the “occupier” and the Palestinians the “oppressed.”
Gigi then liked the post, introducing her 66.2 million followers to the cartoons, which are riddled with historical inaccuracies and anti-Semitic phrases.
The Hadid sisters’ posts come as Israel presses ahead with a major military offensive in the Gaza Strip, killing up to 11 senior Hamas military terrorists in retaliation for artillery and mortars fired at Israel from Palestinian territories.
Mohamed Hadid is a Palestinian who was born in Nazareth in November 1948, four months after his city was captured by Israeli forces. The family fled to Syria and eventually to Washington DC. He holds Jordanian and American citizenship.
He shares Gigi, Bella and son Anwar, 24, with his ex-wife, Dutch ex-model Yolanda Hadid. He is also the father of daughters Alana (38) and Marielle (43) with his ex-wife Mary Butler.
In 2018, Gigi said on Twitter: “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. “For me, this isn’t about religion or one against the other – it’s about greed,” using the hashtags “Free Palestine,” “Free Gaza,” and “Coexist” with a peace sign emoji.
She later added: “My intention is never to further divide the groups in hatred.” I am not against anyone. I’m just for coexistence.’

“They have lost so much and need help.” Only if you can. If your attitude towards their government makes you less empathetic towards the victims, the propaganda will affect you.
Post: Gal Gadot revealed how sad she was about Hamas’ attack on Israel this week
“The goal of propaganda is dehumanization.” It works to dehumanize Israelis, and it works to dehumanize Gazans
“I like to think that most of us are above propaganda. But this weekend reminded me how widespread it is. Because many people reacted to this violence with justification and not with empathy
“I guess it’s not surprising, but it’s still heartbreaking.” Propaganda is everywhere. It penetrates us over time. It tries to block our empathy receptors. So when we see violence, we rationalize our human reaction

She continued to defend her demand that the terrorists film horizontally: “I just want to make sure there is 4K footage of my people tearing down the walls of the open-air prison they were forced out of their homes into, so that we have a good opportunity to do that have.” History books that write about how they liberated themselves from apartheid.
