Gigi Hadid to donate her Fashion Week earnings to Ukrainian refugees in long Instagram post

Gigi Hadid vows to donate her Fashion Week earnings to Ukrainian refugees: ‘Our eyes and hearts must be open to any human injustice’

Gigi Hadid has pledged to donate her fashion week earnings to those affected by the war in Ukraine.

The 26-year-old supermodel shared a series of pictures from various shows and said that she makes a significant contribution to helping those in need.

The fashion icon explained that despite her work on and off the runway, she also has a duty to give back, and she did so in a big way, giving away all of her Fall 2022 campaign income to Ukrainian organizations.

Hadid noted that her professional obligations prevented her from actively reflecting on world events.

She wrote: “The established schedule of Fashion Month means that my colleagues and I often introduce new fashion collections at heartbreaking and traumatic moments in history.”

Hadid added that she and her fellow models are interested in making positive changes in their work.

“We don’t control most of our work schedules, but we would love to go ‘for’ something,” she wrote.

Hadid then announced that she would be channeling her show income to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

“Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I pledge to donate my proceeds from the Fall 2022 shows to help those suffering from the war in Ukraine,” she said.

She also stated that she would continue to “support those who are going through the same thing in Palestine.”

Hadid noted that she would like world leaders to ignore minor disagreements for the greater good in the future.

“Our eyes and hearts must be open to any human injustice. Can we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion,” she wrote.

She added: “At the end of the day, it’s the innocent lives that pay the price, not the leaders.”

Hadid concluded her message with the words: “HANDS AGAINST UKRAINE. HANDS AGAINST PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE.’
