It was newsreader Philippe-Vincent Foisy who made the announcement on air at around 8am this morning.
In fact, Gino Chouinard will receive the National Assembly Medal of Deputies. This award aims to mark an important milestone in the brilliant career of our extraordinary host.
The host could not hide his surprise when his colleague mentioned his name as the recipient of the Alternate Medal. Gino was visibly touched and grateful for this honor and was speechless when the announcement was made.
Hello Hello
It was the President of the National Assembly of Quebec and Member of Parliament for the Montarville constituency, Ms. Nathalie Roy, who wanted to recognize this important milestone in Gino's career.
As you know… In June 2024, the host you love so much will leave Salut Bonjour in June 2024 after more than 20 years at the helm of the morning show.
Gino won no less than 14 Artis trophies as best presenter in the Service Show category and has made a name for himself in Quebec television.

An exceptional presenter
In addition to his great versatility and the thousands of interviews he has conducted, it is above all his human qualities that make his career so extraordinary.
The President of the National Assembly of Quebec praises his humility, his rigor and his authenticity and wants to highlight Gino Chouinard's great strength, namely his spontaneous ability to highlight others.
“A natural facilitator, his entire career as a communicator has been focused on respect and kindness. For more than 30 years, this presenter knows how to maintain the love rating of the audience. Now it is our turn to show our gratitude to him with this badge of honor,” says Ms. Nathalie Roy.
The medal will be presented to him at an official ceremony in May 2024 at the Parliament House, a few weeks before his departure from Salut Bonjour.
