Everyone knows that tick tock is full of dances and tendencies, but they are not always good. A 12yearold girl named Milagros Soto died trying “Blackout Challenge” which went viral on social media and which, to the amazement of many, consists of hanging yourself by a belt or shoelace until you lose consciousness.

The case happened on Friday (13th) in the city of Capitán Bermúdez in the province of Santa Fe Argentina. However, this wasn’t the first time the challenge resulted in fatalities: the same situation happened in 2021 Italy and not Chile.

The death is being investigated by Argentina’s prosecutors, who explained the trend to La Nación newspaper. THE deadly challenge requires the user to broadcast the action live on the platform, if the person is successful they “progress in the game”.

“In this case it didn’t work and the minor died trying,” a spokesman said.

An aunt of the teenager shared the family’s grief on Facebook, urging netizens to be aware of the dangers Internet.

Other deadly challenges

The same challenge took place in the Italian city of Palermo in early 2021. Back then, a tenyearold girl died trying to make a trend. Prosecutors have looked more closely at children’s use of social media platforms, and on occasion even banned all Italian accounts.

That same year, a 12yearold boy died in Chile after completing the deadly challenge. He was found lifeless in his room.
