Gisele Bündchen spoke candidly about her personal life in an interview with People magazine published this Monday (18). Nearly a year after her divorce from Tom Brady, the Brazilian model considered homeschooling her children and moving the family to Miami. She also revealed why she hasn’t drank anything alcoholic in over two years.

According to Bündchen, she decided to quit drinking to find “more clarity” in life. The decision is also part of a “healing journey” that she herself initiated. “Right after I turned 40, I felt a big difference whether I drank a glass of wine or not,” he said.

“It is socially acceptable to drink a glass of wine. And people even say, “Oh, that’s healthy for you.” Well, it’s not healthy for me. If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, which is a lot, I can’t take those things (alcohol, caffeine) because they build up,” he explained. She also pointed out that she exercises every day, including walking, yoga and strength training.

In the interview, Gisele stated that she felt an immediate difference from completely abstaining from alcohol, particularly in terms of her wellbeing and mental health. “I became clearer. I was a little more confused before. Now I’m very alert, very present and notice things that I didn’t notice before. When I don’t drink, I sleep much better. You have to be loving with yourself. We demand a lot from our bodies, we have to restart. “You have to take care of this only vehicle you have,” he argued.

The decision to make oneself a priority had a direct impact on socializing and caring for family and close friends, according to the model. “It’s not a selfish thing. People teach us that taking care of yourself is selfish. How is that selfish? When you feel good, you are a better mother, you are a better friend, you are calmer, you are more patient, you are more loving, you are more grounded. It’s about setting priorities for yourself. Because that means loving yourself and loving the people you love the most and who are influenced by how well you are doing. Because when you are sick, everyone will suffer,” he said.

Bündchen and the NFL star announced the “amicable” end of their 13year marriage in October 2022. Since moving to Miami, the Brazilian has dedicated herself to living a healthier life and connecting with herself. “Sometimes we can become so disconnected from our bodies because we are running away from ourselves, so we have to do more and more things for ourselves. You are in this mode. I feel like it feels great when you can feel your body again and just be present. You breathe, you connect,” he said.

“Just feeling the sun, swimming in the sea, walking in the sand or feeling the grass on my feet. Being in nature gives you energy and makes you feel good,” he added.

The former couple’s children, Ben, 13, and Vivian, 10, are adjusting to school after being homeschooled for three years. “They meet their friends at school. you like. It’s all very new. But they really enjoy it and get things done,” he said.

Gisele also shared when she struggled with her parents’ fragile health. “It was very difficult for my family. It was intense, in every part of my life. With all the twists and turns that life throws at us, all we can do is make the best of what happens to us,” he reflected. “I think if I didn’t have all the tools to support me at that stage, it would have been very difficult. And I think everyone can relate to that because we all experience rollercoaster rides in life.”
