The end of Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady’s marriage would have affected the Brazilian model. According to website Entertainment Tonight, after 12 years together, she was “devastated” by the split and even sought help to cope.
“Tom and Gisele have love for each other, he’s a great father, but Gisele had to put herself and her family first,” a source close to the former couple told the American portal.
“Gisele worked with a spiritual guru to stay in a place of peace and come to terms with the end of marriage.”
The model and the footballer confirmed their divorce via social media on Friday (28th).
“It is with great gratitude for our time together that Tom and I have finalized our amicable divorce. My priority has always been and will always be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue to care for them with all the love, care and attention they deserve,” Gisele said in a statement.
Tom Brady also released a note in which he reiterated that the children will be the focus of the now excouple and stressed that the decision to end it was made after much thought.
Gisele and Tom Brady married in 2009, three years after they met. They are parents to Vivian, 9, and Benjamin, 12. Brady is also father to John, 15, from his relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.
According to TMZ, the couple’s lawyers have reached an agreement on the division of assets. However, the details of the divorce remain confidential.
