Today I cleaned out my dressing room for 5 wonderful years… No more bodysuits, muscle warmers, toes, heels and stage costumes… no more mats and tools to train in what I’ve always called “my cave”. My sanctuary at work, the place where my whole universe revolved until 6 months ago. I am happy and nostalgic at the same time, I have dedicated these years to my work and its realization, more and more convinced that I have found my place “in the world”.
Now my universe will turn on a very different satellite for a while, but without forgetting that a part of me will always be here and grateful for these years of sacrifice and so much love for this program. I will never stop being grateful that as a woman and a dancer I was able to experience pregnancy without having to contemplate this condition. But by supporting me in my decisions when my body and my needs change. I will miss everything about this place. Even the difficulties and the hardest days I am sure that maybe one day I will come back stronger than before, that my new life as a mother will give me a charge and a different answer to any complexities I find in life and at work become.
