Is Glastonbury 2023 sold out?

Tickets sold out last year, and hundreds of thousands of music fans were furious after sales were wiped out by technical problems.

The bus packages sold out in just 23 minutes and the main tickets sold out in just over an hour.

Those trying to secure their spot at Worthy Farm have faced crashed websites, a “whirring circle of doom” and disappointment after handing over banking details before their purchases were canceled with no explanation.

Just after 10am on November 6th, See Tickets announced that all tickets were sold, leaving many fans disappointed – and raging about the technical issues.

Will there be another sale?

All is not lost for those who missed last year’s general sale. Any ticket cancellations will be made available via See Tickets in the coming months.

Fans are reminded that there is only one official Glastonbury ticket office and tickets should not be purchased from any other unauthorized retailer.

All tickets to the festival are individually personalized to the named ticket holder and include a photo of each individual attendee.

See Tickets has yet to announce the resale date, but in previous years April cancellations have been put on sale.

How To?

If you want to buy an admission ticket, you have To – but this is no guarantee that you will get one. Registration is free on the festival’s website – glastonburyfestivals.co.uk – and is now open again.

If you’ve already registered with the festival, you don’t have to do it again, but the site recommends updating your photo if it no longer represents you well.

To you must send a passport photograph which will be verified by Glastonbury and may be refused if they feel it is not appropriate. For this reason it is recommended to complete this well in advance of ticket sales to ensure everything is in order.

Each person you want to book tickets for needs a registration number. Children under the age of 12 at the time of Glastonbury are admitted free and do not require a ticket or registration.

What happens when you resell?

To book tickets you will need your registration number and registered zip code for each person present and a debit or credit card with which to complete the transaction.

Tickets are sold exclusively on glastonbury.seetickets.com.

The festival website states that if you see a “reduced” version of the See Tickets website – with a “minimal version of the waiting page” – don’t panic! This does not mean that the website has crashed, but that it is serving as many people as possible at this point.

What types of tickets are there and how much do they cost?

The bus tickets – which offer options for travel to and from different locations to make commuting to the festival greener – include a £50 deposit plus the price of the bus journey, which varies by location.

Bath, Glasgow, Leeds, Oxford, Taunton and York are just some of the cities listed. It is only possible to book tickets from one departure point in a single transaction.

People who buy their tickets through the bus need to board the bus to get the essential tickets to the festival.

Meanwhile, general admission tickets are £335 plus a £5 booking fee. The hefty sum gets revelers entry to the festival, five nights of camping and a selection of freebies including cell phone charging, firewood and a program, among other amenities.

How many tickets can be bought at the same time?

Many people will want to attend with friends, with each member of the group trying to snag as many tickets as possible.

Glastonbury has limited tickets to six per party, and they will be personally made for each attendee to make flogging impossible.

However, this number is usually reduced to a total of four per party in resale, as only a very limited number of tickets will be available.

Can I still volunteer or work at the festival?

Glastonbury tickets aren’t cheap, and in 2023 they’re more expensive than ever – but it’s possible to get in for free.

Each year Glastonbury recruits people to help on the administrative side of things and a few roles are available which is perfect if you have the time.

Jobs such as security, escorts, tractor drivers and more are also hired locally.

The various vacancies appear occasionally on the Glastonbury website so checking back in the months leading up to the big weekend could be a good way to snag a spot on a whim.

If you’re already employed and understandably don’t want to quit your job for Glastonbury, there are other ways to get there.

Each year, hundreds of festival-goers earn their ticket by volunteering on-site, mainly taking on the mammoth task of cleaning up Worthy Farm and picking up rubbish during and after the festival.

People recruited by the festival usually have to pay for their ticket in advance, but are reimbursed after completing three eight-hour shifts.

Rubbish collector Amanda Ayers told Metro, “After we finish our shift around noon, we’re completely free to do whatever we want.”

“We don’t miss any of the music at all and still get to see all the headliners as most of the stages open between 11:30am and 12:00pm. We can stay up as late as we want and enjoy the surroundings – as long as we get up on time for the 6am shift,” she added.

You can also apply to independent organizations to work as warehouse or groundskeepers for the people who are on the festival grounds.

However, these wardens may be asked to work either night or day shifts, meaning you may miss some of the action on stage.

Some charities such as Oxfam, Shelter, WaterAid, Festaff and the Samaritans are also offering some places to work at the festival.

Registration for Oxfam, Shelter and WaterAid is now closed and positions will be filled just as quickly as general tickets.

But seats often open up as people drop out, especially after ticket resale has taken place, so it might be worth checking back in spring.
