Gloria Trevi is suing Sergio Andrade in the US for sexual abuse

The singer Gloria Trevi has sued her former agent and producer Sergio Andrade for sexual abuse, as published this Thursday by the specialist media Variety and Rolling Stones. Now the 55-year-old actress is identifying herself as a victim of her former partner by filing a counter-injunction against the civil lawsuit that a Los Angeles court filed against them both in January for corruption of minors.

The singer, who has been saying for years that she is also a victim of Andrade, has decided to tell the music press in a statement about the “terrible abuse” she suffered at the hands of her ex-partner, now 68 years old has. In the announcement, he explained that he had kept quiet about this sexual abuse for years to avoid reliving the “horrific experiences” and to “protect his children and family.”

The letter describes Trevi as being “controlled, mentally and physically tortured and enslaved by Andrade,” who viewed her as “his most valuable asset” in his “sadistic” sexual network. This spiral of violence, which denounced the singer, who was allegedly beaten “brutally” until unconscious and repeatedly raped by her ex-partner, even made her think about suicide.

Pelo Suelto's interpreter, represented by lawyer Johnny Depp, is now positioning herself so that the acts of violence she denounces are not repeated. “I have decided to take these legal actions to fight for justice and send a message that such heinous acts should not be tolerated. “No one should have to go through what I experienced, and I am committed to holding those responsible accountable for their actions,” her letter said.

The letter describes the system of abuse that Andrade used in the 1990s against Trevi and other young women who wanted to enter the world of entertainment thanks to the “position of power and influence” he held as the brother of a Mexican senator . “This position enabled him to attract many young women into his sphere of influence in the hope that he would guide them, mentor them and launch their careers in show business. But when they were drawn to his dreams of fame, he subjected them to complete control and sadistic abuse: mental, financial, physical and sexual. Trevi was one of these young women,” explains her lawyer.

The abuses even reached the economic sector. Trevi claims Andrade managed the money he received for the singer's performances and redirected it through his representation company. The actress in the soap opera Libre para amarte insists that she cannot talk to men other than Andrade.

Andrade and Trevi were accused of belonging to an alleged sex ring in the 1990s. They were arrested in Brazil in 2000 by a Mexican court order that accused them of kidnapping, raping and corrupting minors. They spent three years in a Brazilian prison before being extradited to Mexico, where Trevi was released in 2004 and her ex-partner in 2007.
