In the EU, glyphosate residues are caused by desiccation (drying). It is about accelerating the maturation of plants and eliminating weeds. This method is not used in Austria, but it is used in countries like Poland or Lithuania.
While conventional science agrees that exposure limits determine whether a chemical is dangerous, environmental organizations are trying to overturn that principle. Investigations are published showing that something was found. The fact that quantities are often well below threshold values is hardly a problem when presenting test results.
