The 44-year-old barrister, best known as Judge Rinder, returned to ITV alongside Charlotte Hawkins after previously detailing the tragic loss of his French bulldog, Rocco.
During the first show since Christmas, Rob was reacting to one of her latest messages, which revealed how more pets are being abandoned amid the cost of living crisis.

After meeting two adorable dogs, Charlotte asked Rob if he could consider getting another one. She said: “It’s hard, isn’t it, when you had a loved one that you could then replace.”
Rob replied: “I’m not sure I could have another one. I really didn’t want a dog. Eventually you get a pet and it will be exactly as you describe it. It will be exactly as you describe it when they become part of your family. You are irreplaceable.”

Rob choked back tears as he announced the sad news that Rocco had died live on GMB earlier this month.
He got emotional live on air as he described the tragic loss of his French bulldog, Rocco, who died suddenly last week.
And he was comforted by his co-host Susanna Reid, who offered her support and placed a caring hand on his arm.

Robert explained the loss he feels: “I wasn’t exactly a dog person, but then this beautiful snoring creature walked into my life. He gave me absolute loyalty and unconditional love.
“There is nothing like the deep joy of coming home and seeing someone filled with boundless joy just to see you. Nobody will give you that.’
Also reaching out to viewers who may have had similar experiences, he continued, “It’s that connection to pets, animals in general, that so many people feel.
“And I have to say to anyone out there that has lost a pet and it’s a real heartache, I hear you.”
