There are many people now using metal detectors and especially in the UK this has become a very common activity. In fact, there are many people walking around with this tool to try to find objects of economic but also historical value. And that is often the case.
The metal detector is an instrument that detects the presence of metals thanks to magnetic induction. In fact, it is common to find coins and some jewels with this object. In the UK it is also used by many as the found object remains with whoever found it and the owner of the place where it was found.

They can then freely sell what they find and the state only has the right of first refusal. This means that he can buy the property and is preferred over private individuals and is therefore always considered first for historical properties. But let’s see what the latest discovery was, a treasure from 2000 years ago.
A treasure from 2000 years ago: This is what comes out
That’s exactly what happened to this man. He goes for a walk, takes his metal detector with him and finds a 2000 year old treasure. The discovery was made in the county of Hampshire, England, more specifically in Selborne. We are in a billage and civil parish.
It is a gold coin from before the Romans conquered England. The coin is a gold Iron Age quarter stater. Perhaps it could be of the Mossop Cruciform type, according to the archaeologists who showed the find to the Portal Antiquites scheme.

The coin appears to be between 65 and 40 BC. to date and weighs less than a gram. Specifically, it weighs 0.9 grams and has a diameter of 0.95 millimeters. The obverse of the coin depicts a cross with curved arms. There is also the motif of the central sun.
The cross shape is bounded by two crescents forming a lyre shape on the left and a central motif on the right. Above and below the sun motif are then flowers with petals. The reverse has a horse instead of the coin on the right, and then two more symbols. It has a flower sun in the upper part and a wheel in the lower part.

The years in which this coin was minted can be traced back to the Roman conquest. And, most likely, after the invasion, some citizens of that time decided to hide some coins. Or it can just be a loss.
The discovery after so many years suggests that the plowing system in the field where it was found was changed, meaning the coin was detected by the metal detector.
