Golf: When is the next Tiger Woods tournament?

The famous Tiger Woods has managed to play all four rounds of his first golf tournament of the season, but it’s difficult to predict the exact timing of his next appearance on the PGA Tour greens.

The former world No. 1 finished last weekend’s Genesis Invitational in 45th place.

His record of 283, one under par, his good shots and his physical condition seem to have put him at ease, even if his gait was rather unsteady at the end of each of his working days.

Now the golfer himself is the only one who can dictate what’s next on Woods’ 2023 schedule.

“Like I told you last year, I won’t be playing much more than the majors and a few events here and there. My body allows me that, said the 47-year-old, as reported by USA Today. With all the back surgeries and the condition of my leg, I can’t do more. This will be my future. Last year I planned to play all four major tournaments; I played three. Hopefully this time I can take part in all four and add some competitions. However, it will be like this at the end of my career. I know and understand that. It’s a reality.”

Physically, Woods believes he is in reasonable shape despite everything. “

It’s progressing, it’s going in the right direction, he assessed. It was probably a bit harder than I expected, but my team has been fantastic in helping me recover every day and making sure I’m ready to play.

Working next month?

If participation in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is scheduled for March 2-5, seems unlikely for the “Tiger”, an appearance at the Players Championship the following weekend could be a possibility.

As a two-time winner of this tournament, he would have the advantage of progressing on a flatter course and therefore less physically demanding.

And the whole thing would be good preparation for the Masters tournament, which will be held in Augusta from April 6th to 9th.

“This is the most complicated part that I can’t reproduce at home. Even if I play at home for four days, it’s not the same adrenaline or intensity. The focus required for top performance is not there. No matter how well I can simulate all that at home, it’s not the same context as when you show up on the field and play a tournament,” he recalled.
