Google Play Games: Android games on PC now in 4K – 01net

Without making too much noise, the Google Play Games service continues to be enriched. The search engine has just announced support for 4K and major game controllers for its system, allowing you to play Android games on PC.

It’s not the most popular gaming service, but Google Play Games, still in beta, is still in the landscape. And the company wants to make it a must-have, at least for gamers who want to find their favorite Android titles on their PC!

Compatible with Windows 10 and 11 and available in France since May, Google Play Games offers a catalog with 3,000 titles including hits like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. In order to find your way through this selection, a search engine has recently been added to the “All Games” home page (everything happens!).

The titles can be played with the keyboard/mouse or, for some games, with a standard controller: Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, DualSense (PS5), DualShock (PS4). Asphalt 9 Legends and Badland are particularly compatible. And like Steam, progress is synced in the cloud; You can therefore find it on your smartphone, your Chromebook or your PC.

The big innovation is support for 4K resolution on compatible monitors. The player can press Shift and Tab to display on-screen settings options. The advantage of this service is that you only need a modest PC to benefit from it: the minimum configuration is a computer with an Intel UHD Graphics 630, a 4-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and SSD storage.
