In short, I love these Pixel Buds Pro. Once the tips are firmly screwed into both of our ear canals to ensure perfect sound insulation, the noise cancellation works at full speed.
Speaking of noise, we’re talking constant background noise, such as 85dB on board an airplane or even 95dB if you’re sitting in the back, the rolling noise in a car, or the sound of a worn-out fan that deserves to be replaced. In short, that roar or engine or road hum is greatly reduced by the Pixel Buds Pro’s active noise cancellation.
On the plane you don’t have to turn up the audio volume of your movie on your tablet or phone to the 85 dB, the active cancellation significantly reduces ambient noise and your cinema can be heard at normal levels.
Voices and other noises are not filtered out and this is perfectly normal as they do not need to be removed in order to have a discussion. In Google terminology, this is transparency mode. A long press on either earbud turns noise cancellation on or off.

Google ships three sizes of tips with its headphones. And to check which ones are suitable, you’ll need an Android phone, version 6 or newer, to use the Headphones application to test the earbuds’ sound isolation.
The same Android device is also used to update the firmware of the headphones, which only need to be placed next to the phone but outside the case.
Once the size has been found, it is necessary that they fit the ears well. In my case, no problem with the left ear, but with the right it takes a few tries to achieve perfect sound isolation, since the noise cancellation works less well without the latter. It is enough to feel the skin around the tip a little to discover noise infiltrations.
Compatible with all Bluetooth 4.0 devices
It should be noted that during a phone or video call, the same background noise is not transmitted to your interlocutor. For example, in a car, the person on the other end of the line does not know that you are on the freeway.
Speaking of connectivity, Pixel Buds Pro can be paired with any device with Bluetooth 4.0 or higher, including tablets, laptops, and Apple’s Android and iOS devices.
To pair them with your device, press the button on the bottom of the case (earphones inside) so that they appear in the list of your Bluetooth Gadgets. Aside from updates and earbud testing with an Android device, these Pixel Buds Pro work great with Apple products.
Also for music
Not being a music lover, it’s difficult for me to determine the accuracy or the audio quality. However, the bass is very present when listening to techno music.
At a distance, the Bluetooth connection offers you 10 meters, and in autonomy, Google extends 11 hours of listening per charge without noise cancellation, for a total of 31 hours with case charging.
With the noise cancellation turned on, Google states up to 7 hours of listening time with the headphones and up to 20 hours total listening time with the charging case. A 5-minute charge of the headphones in the charging case provides up to 1 hour of listening time with active noise cancellation.
As of this writing, the Pixel Buds Pro are $199.99; three colors to choose from.
