BUENOS AIRES, December 29.- The grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo have reported the whereabouts of a grandson who disappeared during the dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983), the 132 they have identified since they began their activity in 1977.

The organization has released a statement on its website releasing the news and calling the media to a press conference in Buenos Aires where they revealed the identity of grandson number 132.

Thus ends the year 2022 with the solution of a new case that renews hope on this path of truth, memory, justice and identity. We hope 2023 will greet us with many more gatherings, the organization added.

Less than a week ago, last Thursday, the grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo announced the whereabouts of another grandson who disappeared during the dictatorship, news that brought infinite joy to Argentine President Alberto Fernández, Europa Press reported.

Before these last two identifications, since June 2019, the organization spent a long period of more than three years without being able to locate a grandson who disappeared during the dictatorial tenure of Jorge Rafael Videla.

Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo is a human rights organization founded in 1977 with the aim of locating all the children who disappeared during Argentina’s last military dictatorship.
