Gray Cup final: The Alouettes mourn Karl Tremblay in Hamilton

HAMILTON | Given the presence of many Quebecers on the team, the Montreal Alouettes were visibly touched when they learned of the death of Karl Tremblay, lead singer of the Cowboys Fringants, on Wednesday evening.

We reiterate the importance of maintaining a similar routine and avoiding distractions for players in the week leading up to a Gray Cup final. But unfortunately sometimes life decides.

“The Montreal Alouettes mourn the loss of Karl Tremblay, singer of the Cowboys Fringants, the organization soberly announced on its social networks. Quebec loses a monument. Courage to his family and loved ones.”

Frédéric Chagnon and David Dallaire are among the most ardent fans of the Cowboys Fringants in the Alouettes locker room.

Among the veterans, Kristian Matte, 38 years old, was not yet of age when the album Break syndical was released in 2002. Over the years, his adult life was inevitably accompanied by the numerous successes that Karl Tremblay sang about.

Matte has another obvious reason to be touched by the singer’s death. He knows exactly the chemistry that can work within a musical group, he who was a drummer in a band in another time. The camaraderie can also be similar to the relationships that develop between teammates during a football career.
