Great British Bake Off fans are delighted as Tasha returns to the tent after overheating and becoming ill

Great British Bake Off fans were delighted when Tasha returned to the tent for Pastry Week on Tuesday night.

The competition descended into chaos last week when Tasha became ill from overheating in the hot tent and had to leave the tent mid-task.

The 27-year-old baker is the Channel 4 show’s first ever deaf contestant and appears on the show alongside her BSL interpreter Daryl.

And viewers were thrilled as she “came back with a bang” and showed off her impressive baked goods to the judges.

Sharing his thoughts on Twitter, one fan wrote: ‘Sausage, bacon and cranberries??’ YES TASHA, the queen is back.’

Another added: “Well Tasha is back with a bang.”

“I’m happy Tasha is back, such a good baker and a really nice girl!” a third shared.

One fan wrote: “Tasha Stones is an absolute delight. “I hope she makes it all the way this year.”

Last week, viewers noticed that Tasha looked “pale” during the technical baking process to make a chocolate cake without wheat flour.

A poorly looking Tasha told the crew: “It’s pretty hot, I need some air” before being taken outside.

Bake Off fans were quick to criticize producers for hosting a chocolate week in the middle of the heatwave.

This week both Nicky and Rowan were sent home from the Great British Bake Off in a brutal double elimination on Tuesday night’s episode.

The fan favorites bid a sad farewell from the tent after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith during a tough pastry week.

With many of the contestants suffering from baking mistakes, from soggy floors to an “awkward” presentation to a shocking accidental fall, Cristy managed to come out on top and was crowned this week’s star baker.

During Pastry Week, the Signature Challenge required participants to bake picnic tarts, while the Technical Challenge tasked them with creating a classic French tart using coarse dough.

Next, the showstopper baker had to impress with a display of decorative sweet cakes, consisting of three separate cakes and made from a rich pastry with various fillings.

During the episode, contestants were initially tasked with baking picnic pies and many struggled to impress the judges with their baked goods.

But while Nicky suffered a nightmare, Cristy earned a handshake from Paul Hollywood.

Next came the technical test, where Dan took first place despite having blood in his pastry, while Nicky fell behind again.

After a disappointing result in both the tricky signature and technical challenges, Nicky was fearful for her place in the showstopper tent.

During the task, Rowan failed to lift his Absolutely Fabulous-inspired cake from the tray and Prue described his construction as “clumsy”, with one cake being “too solid” and another “too sloppy”.

Saku’s cake also got stuck when she accidentally dropped it over the counter, leaving viewers at home horrified.

Matt also saw one of his cakes collapse when the judges cut it, with Prue adding that the fillings were undercooked, while Dana’s cake left Paul puckered for its sour taste.

The Great British Bake Off returns on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
