(ANSA) – ATHENS, MARCH 16 – A general strike by public and private sector workers is underway across Greece, while student demonstrations are planned in Athens and major cities across the country to demand truth and justice following the Tebi incident. Railway to call on February 28, which killed 57 people. The latest strike, which took place on March 8, brought together some 65,000 people across the country and today’s mobilization promises to be just as impressive. Sea connections to the islands have been disrupted, while disruptions to air traffic are expected.
“We demand that the real culprits of Tebis crimes come to light and that the privatization policy of public services is stopped; we also demand that the protection of work and life is no longer treated as an expenditure item,” says the budget in Adedy’s communiqué , the federation of trade unions of Greek public employees.
