Katherine Heigl has revealed her departure from Grey’s Anatomy was a time of confusion.
The 44-year-old actress recently reunited with former Grey’s Anatomy cast member Ellen Pompeo, 53, for Variety’s Actors on Actors series.
During their conversation, the star, who left the medical drama series in 2010, reflected on how she felt after leaving. She had left after rumors of on-set altercations, earning her a reputation as a difficult actress. “My head, my guts, my mind, my life, everything was in shambles. I had way too high an anxiety level,” said the Firefly Lane star.
During her time on the show, she was dubbed a “diva” behind the scenes. “It’s all a bit of a blur for me, and it’s taken me years to learn to deal with it and to master it,” she said. I can’t even say I have it under control (…) And when stress is left uncontrolled and untreated for too long, it can be debilitating. »
Ellen Pompeo, who starred on Grey’s Anatomy for 19 seasons, added that the cast attracted a lot of attention in the show’s early years. “We were constantly focused on everything we were doing and everything was amplified. And that added to the emotions and kind of made the scenes better and the show better and more popular,” she said.
Katherine Heigl has not appeared on the series since she left in 2010.
