Existing buildings are often outdated and no longer meet current requirements in terms of accessibility, comfort and energy efficiency. To achieve the federal government’s climate protection objectives, all existing buildings in Germany must be renovated to be climate neutral by 2050 at the latest. This represents major challenges for the entire construction industry and for many real estate companies in particular.
As an incentive to address this issue more intensively, the new “Series Renewal” bonus was introduced as part of the Federal Energy Efficiency Act (BEG). This refers to the energy-efficient renovation of buildings with prefabricated facades and roof elements. Compared to time-consuming on-site solutions, these elements can be installed with much less effort. The Wood Information Service created a new publication on this topic, the “Series Renovation Guide”. An addition to the guide is already planned as part of the “wood construction manuals” series.
