Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1989, according to a court document accessed by AFP on Wednesday (22).

In the lawsuit, the alleged victim, Sheila Kennedy, an actress and model, alleges that Rose “sexually assaulted” her and that she “did not consent and felt dominated.”

The band leader has not yet commented publicly on the accusation.

The incident reportedly took place in a hotel room in New York after both of them met at a nightclub.

The lawsuit accuses the artist of forcing Kennedy to have anal sex. According to her lawyers, “the model believed that Rose would physically attack her, or worse, if she said ‘no’ or tried to push him away. She knew the safest thing to do was to lie in bed and wait for Rose to finish attacking her,” the text reads.

“[Isso] “Had an emotional, physical, psychological and financial impact throughout Kennedy’s life,” the complaint concludes.

The civil lawsuit was filed in New York County Supreme Court and demands that Axl Rose face a jury trial.

“Rose used her fame, status and power as a celebrity and artist in the music industry to manipulate, control and violently attack Kennedy,” the lawsuit says.

The plaintiff is seeking financial compensation for the damages and consequences she suffered as a result of Rose’s violent drugrelated behavior, which treated her “like property to be used for his own sexual pleasure.”

The lawsuit was filed under a New York law that allows sexual assault complaints that are timebarred to be filed until Nov. 23.
