Guta Stresser, known for her role as Bebel in A Big Family, spoke about her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and the financial difficulties she faces in an interview with the show Domingo Espetacular. The actress, who is currently undergoing treatment through SUS, spoke about the emotional and professional impact the disease has had on her life.

“A bucket of cold water” is how Guta described the moment he received the diagnosis. She said she initially felt tingling in her extremities and tinnitus. The disease, which impairs memory and has no cure, led the actress to a process of denial until she could find new meaning in her life.

Prejudice

Guta also addressed the prejudice he faces in art classes due to the illness. “Prejudice due to lack of knowledge. Working is good for you. The worst thing for someone with multiple sclerosis is to stop. If you stop, you become paralyzed,” he explained.

Regarding the financial difficulties, Guta was emphatic: “People always think that you are in a super paradise, wonderful life and that you are there and see how you are going to pay the bill. The bills that come in… Nobody wants to lose a house because they weren’t able to pay the mortgage.”
