(Update: Added video and comments from restaurants featured in the show)
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – You may have recognized some Central Oregon restaurants from last season 37 of Guy Fieri’s popular Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” – and there’s another one on the schedule Friday night.
In one of the most recent episodes, which aired last Friday, Fieri visited a pizza place in Redmond, Grace and Hammer. The restaurant is located in a church that was built in 1912. The restaurant’s website says, “It has hosted meetings, classes, a dance studio, weddings, events and now our pizzeria.”
Some other locations recently featured on the show include:
A Broken Angel (Bend)
Season 37 “First Class Toppings”
Big Ski’s Pierogis (Bend)
Season 37 “Stuffed, topped and with soup”
Anita’s Kitchen Gourmet Indian Food (Bend)
Season 37 “Sloppy, Naughty and Stuffed”
Grace and Hammer (Redmond)
Season 37 “Delicious Time Travel”
High Camp Taphouse (Sisters)
Season 37 “Dumpling-icious”
A Broken Angel co-owner Richard Hull spoke with us on Friday about his experiences at Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
He said when he received the email about the show, he didn’t believe it was real.
“I thought it wasn’t true. You know, I thought, ‘This is weird,'” Hull said. “I was kind of overwhelmed by the whole experience. It was fantastic! Very interesting. But there’s no doubt that I was really excited for him to come over and try my food.”
Season 38 will be shown Feast Food Company in Redmond. This episode is scheduled to air on Friday evening.
The restaurant started as a food truck that traveled to various Redmond locations before becoming a brick-and-mortar operation in December.
Owners Chris and Emma Leyden are still processing the full Triple D experience.
“It’s hard for us to step back and think about it. We’ve just been really busy preparing for it lately. So you know we’re going to take it easy, but we’re doing it.” Make sure the food is the focus. said Chris Leyden. “Customer service is the focus. It’s not necessarily about being on TV, but more about serving the community.”
The official Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives website calls Feast Food Company the “true definition of a farm-to-table restaurant that does it right.” The menu includes dishes like braised beef pappardelle, homemade biscuits , fried mushrooms, gnudi, pork rinds and albacore ceviche.
“It’s really hard for us to pigeonhole ourselves,” Chris Leyden said. “You know, we basically source all of our products from local farms and ranches in the area and just freestyle whatever we like to do. There is a lot of southern inspiration and many, so to speak, original roots of the cuisine.”
Fieri was able to watch them prepare and taste their Cuban sandwich and chicken gnudi dish.
You can catch Guy’s visit to Feast Food Company on Friday at 6 p.m. on the Food Network.
