Guy Sebastian reveals details of his secret separation from his wife Jules: “She broke my heart”
Guy Sebastian spoke about his separation from his wife Jules on Wednesday.
The Voice Australia coach, 41, revealed on Sunrise that he and Jules were dating in 2000, but she dumped him shortly before his appearance on Australian Idol.
“I didn’t think we would get back together,” the singer told co-hosts Natalie Barr and Matt Shirvington.
“I was 18 when we first met and I think I was 21 (when we broke up) and she kind of broke my heart.”
“She broke up with me and then Idol happened and I moved to Sydney and I didn’t think we’d get back together, I wasn’t sure.”

Guy explained that he eventually realized that he and Jules “had so much history and she always loved him.”
Guy married Jules at the end of 2007 after eight years of dating and they have two sons together, Hudson (11) and Archie (9).
Last month, the singer revealed that his wife was hesitant about having children at the start of their relationship.
He spoke to Who Australia about Jules’ fears of motherhood.
“Jules was a tomboy as a child. You know when some women grow up they say, ‘I can’t wait to be a mother?'” the Australian Idol star began.
“Whereas Jules was petrified of it. “I never heard the words ‘I want to be a mother’ come out of her mouth because I think she was afraid she wouldn’t do well,” he said.

Despite her reservations, Guy claims Jules naturally chose motherhood with the couple’s two sons.
“What I’ve seen her do incredibly well is be a mother,” the pop star said, praising his wife.
“I think you feel a new love for your partner when you see them in a role like that – caring for and caring for the people who matter most to you. ‘She’s killing it!’ he added.
