Gwyneth Paltrow took a trip down memory lane as she recreated some of her most iconic looks in a new holiday ad for Goop, shared on Instagram on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old “Shakespeare In Love” actress, who recently opened up about the difficulties of raising four teenagers, slipped into memorable outfits and took on the roles of movie characters she once played in the latest video.
In the post’s caption, she wrote, “You never know who might show up at your holiday table. Shop for gifts for even the most special people.”
The ad began with Paltrow sitting at a desk and filling out a card, which she then attached to a small red gift.
A classic Christmas tune played in the background of the clip as the star began preparing to host a holiday party for her very special guests.

Movie Character: Later in the ad, earlier versions of Paltrow were seen at the table, such as Margot Tenenbaum from Wes Anderson’s 2001 film “The Royal Tenenbaums.”
Relapse! The Golden Globe winner also dressed up like a ’90s version of herself, wearing simple white shorts and a black leather jacket
A decorated table featured sugary treats and glasses filled with bubbly champagne, along with a Dirty Santa candle from Goop that was also lit.
The ad featured modern-day Gwyneth stepping out in a sleeveless, fluffy black ensemble to cheerfully greet her guests.
The camera then showed different, earlier versions of Paltrow sitting at the long table. The businesswoman was once spotted in the pink taffeta Ralph Lauren dress she wore to the 1999 Oscars.
Not only did she wear the dress, but she also wore her hair the same way in an elegant updo and also wore a similar silver necklace and sparkling earrings.
During an interview with Vogue, the star had spoken candidly about the outfit, explaining: “It’s a funny story because it was before stylists and I had gone through the Ralph Lauren lookbook…”
She added that a “bubblegum taffeta skirt” was featured at a fashion show at the time. After calling Ralph Lauren, the brand offered to make a dress for the ceremony.
Gwyneth revealed: “And I kept it and I have it. “And I borrowed earrings and a necklace from Harry Winston for the Oscars and after I won my dad surprised me with them as a gift.”

As for long-term success, she said: “I think we’re really clear about our values and it’s nice to see that they’ve become more and more resonant over time.”
