Gypsy Rose Blanchard and husband Ryan Anderson recall how he smuggled an engagement ring into prison to propose to her in their new docuseries

Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her husband Ryan Anderson revealed how they got engaged while she was still in prison.

On Lifetime's The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, her now-husband, 37, said he proposed to her just four months after they met in person.

In the documentary, the middle school teacher explained that she confessed to him that she had developed romantic feelings for him and asked him where their relationship was going.

He admitted that he had already fallen in love with her at that point, and then decided to smuggle an engagement ring into the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri to ask her to marry him.

On what was only their third conjugal visit, he put a ring on his necklace and proposed to Gypsy, now 32 – who recently said she was into Taylor Swift and her music.

She recalled that at the time of filming, Ryan took her while she was still in prison and told her about his love for her.

He then gushed about the chemistry between them and how “cute” she looked when he saw her.

They would later marry in 2022 in a small ceremony at the prison.

In late December 2023, Gypsy was released on parole three years early, having served seven of her ten-year sentence.

He was there to pick her up from prison and was by her side when she made her first red carpet appearance at the premiere of her new docuseries.

He also accompanied her for a Saturday night in New York City, where they enjoyed a date at the Broadway show “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”

Earlier in the day, they were spotted dancing in Central Park, with a camera crew in tow to capture the moment.

Before the show began that night, Gypsy shared a clip on TikTok showing off her seats and talking about how “she loved the series.”
