A strong storm is currently ravaging Austria. In some parts of the country it is raining heavily, in other places it is thundering violently. Where are you going now?
The so-called marginal low called Finja will ensure a longer lasting storm front starting Monday night. A look at the warning map from the Austrian Severo Meteorology Center reveals that these storms are already occurring in the west of the country. There is already one in six federal states red storm or hail warning climate experts. Vorarlberg, Tyrol, Salzburg, Carinthia, Styria and Upper Austria are affected. In Vorarlberg, wind gusts in excess of 70 km/h were measured on Monday.

The strongest storm cell is currently just above Dachstein. A look at the three-dimensional radar shows that this cloud tower shot up to about 13 km and also shows maximum reflectivities at a height of several kilometers. Hail is very likely with this storm. It is shifting from east to southeast and thus threatening the Ennstal from Schladming to Gröbming.

Of Tuesdaybrings dense clouds from Vorarlberg to Upper Austria and some rain at times. In the east and especially in the south, the sun sometimes appears, but during the day there are sometimes heavy rains and thunderstorms from Lower Austria to Burgenland and the southern Alps. In some places there is a risk of heavy rain and hail. Temperatures are split in two: while from Vorarlberg to the Salzkammergut there are only 14 to 19 degrees, in the south and southeast it will be hot again like summer with 25 to 29 degrees. In the middle of the week, heavy thunderstorms are expected, especially in the extreme south and southeast, otherwise a calm is in sight. At 15 to 25 degrees, temperatures roughly correspond to the seasonal average.
At the Wednesdaythe division continues, on the northern side of the Alps it remains cloudy and rainy. In the inland and eastern Alps, clouds will temporarily loosen, but rain and thunderstorms will quickly form again. The sun appears most often from Carinthia south of Burgenland, although there are also heavy showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening here. From northwest to southeast, highs are between 14 and 28 degrees.

In the mountains and particularly in the south, however, it will remain changeable with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. At least in the middle the sun shines here too. In the Danube region, moderate to strong westerly winds blow, otherwise the wind does not play a major role and at 16 to 26 degrees it is usually hot in early summer.
Of Fridayusually shows its friendly side, just inland-alpine and in the south some clouds are already there at the beginning. Here the risk of rain increases again during the day. In the north most of it remains dry, but throughout the day some clouds will pass through here again and a strong westerly wind will blow. Temperatures rise again for a summer of 19 to 28 degrees.
