While the Tribeca Festival (formerly Tribeca Film Festival) is typically known for showing new films and series debuts, the Tribeca Talks – Storytellers program also allows fans and journalists to meet the actors and filmmakers behind the work.
As the 2023 edition of the annual New York City festival wrapped, Hailee Steinfeld was among the stars sharing her journey from child actor to full-on movie stardom.
Actress, producer and comedian Ayo Edebiri hosted the hour-long interview and panel discussion, which took place at the Indeed Theater at Spring Studios in New York City.
Steinfeld showed off her fashion best as she posed for photographers in a chic blue suede suit.
She tucked a plunging black silk blouse into the waistband of her tapered trousers and stood on high black heels.

The actress had her long brunette locks slicked back from her face and tied into a sleek bun.
Steinfeld began acting at the ripe age of 10 and has appeared in several short films, including the role of Talia Alden in the award-winning She’s A Fox (2009).
And then, later that same year, she landed her breakthrough role in the western film True Grit (2010), in which she delivered a groundbreaking performance alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Barry Pepper
The film received ten Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for Joel and Ethan Cohen, and Best Supporting Actress for Steinfeld, although it didn’t win an Oscar.
Her Hollywood resume also includes films such as the musical comedy Begin Again (2013), the sci-fi action film Ender’s Game (2013), the action thriller 3 Days To Kill (2014) and the coming-of-age drama The Edge of Seventeen (2016).
She made great strides as an actress, and has since starred in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), the sci-fi action film Bumblebee (2018), and the voice acting role of Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Into The Spider”. Verse (2018), the first animated film in the Spider-Man series, which won an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2019.
More recently, the young star played the lead in the hit Apple TV+ original comedy-drama series Dickinson (2019-2021), which earned her the coveted 2020 Peabody Award.
In addition to being an Oscar-nominated actress, Steinfeld is also a multi-platinum musician and producer.

Described on the Tribeca Festival website as “a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry,” the actress has been in promo mode for the past month to discuss the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse in the new computer-animated superhero talking movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
Directed by trio Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, the computer-animated film also has voice acting from artists such as Shameik Moore, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Shea Whigham , Greta Lee, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali and Oscar Isaac.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse had its grand premiere on June 2nd.
Founded in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff, the Tribeca Festival (formerly the Tribeca Film Festival) presents a diverse selection of films, episodes, lectures, music, games, art, and immersive programming each spring in New York City.
This annual festival started on June 7th and will last until Sunday June 18th.
