Haley Bieber underwent heart surgery after suffering a stroke last month.
The supermodel, 25, revealed he recently had a patent foramen ovale procedure to repair a hole in the chambers of his heart.
“It went very well… I’m recovering very well, very quickly,” he shared in a YouTube video titled Tell My Story.
After Justin Bieber’s wife was rushed to a Palm Springs, California hospital with stroke-like symptoms last month discovered he had a blood clot that had traveled to his brain, causing a transient ischemic attack (AIT).
However, doctors could not figure out how the blood clot ended up there. That’s how he went to UCLA Medical Center, where they ran more in-depth tests and discovered the condition.
“It usually closes on its own (foramen ovale) at birth,” he added, noting that his didn’t close.
“They discovered that it had a grade five (of the opening), which is the highest grade you can have. Mine was pretty big. What usually happens is that the heart filters the blood clot into the lungs and they absorb it because they are very big and they can take it.
He explained that the blood clot escaped through the hole in the heart and traveled to the brain., which explains his microinfarction.
Hailey added that she’s “grateful he was found,” and her doctors performed a “one button” procedure. to close the valve in the heart.
“I’m so relieved that I can put this very scary situation behind me and go about my life,” she said.
Justin, 28, has previously spoken candidly about how he experienced his partner’s health issue.
“It was scary, you know, it was really scary. But I know for a fact that God is holding her in His hands, and that’s a good thing,” the “Peaches” singer said during a concert in Denver, which he later posted to Instagram.
