Hair’s media premiere interrupted: Serge Denoncourt and his team react quickly – Showbizz.net

While the troupe of the musical “Hair” celebrated their media premiere on the stage of the Espace St-Denis this Monday evening, a power failure disrupted the celebrations.

While the room was plunged in darkness, the many personalities present began shouting encouragement to the performers posing on the stage.

The director, Serge Denoncourt, quickly stepped forward to address the crowd.

“Either we stop there, or we get out the cell phones and get on with it,” the director began, initially to the cheers of the crowd.

“Give us three minutes, we’ll call Hydro-Québec, we know more and … cali**e de tabar**ck,” he added, indicating his dismay.

A few minutes later, all the performers returned to the stage to sing a cappella the song “Let the Sunshine In,” the anthem that usually closes the show, lit only by cell phone lights in the crowd.

We have to admit that the moment was as surreal as it was awesome and unforgettable.

You can see a snippet of it in the video below.

The situation became even more absurd when, on leaving the theater, we found that only the Espace St-Denis was affected by the breakdown, while all the lights were on in the neighboring shops.

When several spectators had already left the facility, the power came back. Unfortunately we missed the end of the show, but we have been confirmed that it has indeed been resumed, certainly to the great delight of those who were still present.

A catastrophe averted and unforgettable memories for the audience present!
