According to reports, the aim of the raid was to kidnap Pastor Julio Volcy, head of the church called “Rendez-vous Christ” at Delmas 75, in the hills of the capital, but the religious security forces realized in time that they could remove him the terrain.

According to authorities, the murdered police officer was identified as Marc Elie Azael and was a member of the Intervention and Maintenance of Order Corps (CIMO, for its French acronym). As for the attacker who dropped dead near the church, reports only stated that he was wearing a black suit.
