“A military solution to the war in Ukraine is no longer possible.” Former commander of Russian paramilitary group Gruppo Wagner, Marat Gabidullin, guest of Mezz’ora in Più, Rai3’s Sunday talk show hosted by Lucia Annunziata on May 22, said he was not afraid of being denied. The former militiaman explains why Russia is doing badly: “Moscow is now in this war and Russia’s resources and military potential are running out, so starting this war was a tragic mistake. It then became a crime against the Ukrainian people and the Russian people. There will be no military solution. This war will last many months, a long time, Russia is becoming weaker and will no longer be able to defend itself against threats coming from the south, such as Afghanistan.
Gabidullin is very critical of the war that Russian President Vladimir Putin has unleashed in Ukraine: “I – the military continues – wrote a book to tell the Russians that structures like the Wagner brigade exist and that Russia uses these structures a lot and does so in a very dubious way on a military level. That’s not the case in the West.”
