SPVQ police officers were patrolling Parc de la Chanterelle when they noticed two men wearing balaclavas acting suspiciously.

Police arrested the individuals before realizing that the 20-year-old suspect was wanted on a warrant and that he was in possession of an air pistol that appeared to be a real weapon.

The other 18-year-old suspect was in possession of two bladed weapons.

Authorities say balaclavas have no connection to Halloween

Both men were eventually arrested on gun charges, including carrying a gun for a dangerous purpose.

The weapons were confiscated and the suspects released with a promise to appear under various conditions.
