According to radical Islamist Hamas, seven hostages kidnapped in Israel were also killed in the Israeli attack on the largest refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, with at least 47 deaths. Among them were three hostages with foreign passports, Hamas said today.
Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell criticized Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. He was “horrified” by the high number of casualties in the bombing of the Jabaliya refugee camp, Borrell said via Twitter (X). At the same time, he emphasized that Israel has the right to self-defense, but within the framework of international humanitarian law.
According to its own statements, Israel had bombed a large tunnel system beneath the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Palestinian territory the previous day.
