Dafna, 15, and Ella, 8, were kidnapped by Hamas. Her mother, Mayyan Zyn, learned of the news when a relative sent her photos on Telegram of her daughters sitting on mattresses, apparently in captivity in Gaza, she told CNN.
She then claims to have found two videos online. First a shot in her ex-husband’s house in the city of Nahal Oz, where we can see armed men, her ex-husband with a bloody leg and the two frightened girls. Another video showed the father crossing the border into Gaza.
“These girls are what I’ve always dreamed of my whole life,” she adds, confiding that she hopes her children see the interview on American television so they know their mother is thinking of them.
Maayan Zyn’s ex-husband, his partner and her son from a previous marriage were also kidnapped, the girls’ aunt Lihi Tzin confirmed.
He wrote on Facebook: “We are scared, we feel sick, we are small, helpless, our stomachs are turning…” and shared photos of the two young girls.
