Hamas blocks exit from Gaza after Israel orders evacuation

This Saturday (October 14th), the Hamas group blocked the southern exit from the Gaza Strip. Satellite images taken by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) show that car barriers are blocking passage. On orders from the Israeli government, people began to evacuate the site towards the border with Egypt. In cars, trucks, carts and even on foot, civilians tried to flee the northern Gaza Strip, the area where attacks in the conflict are concentrated. The deadline set for the evacuation ended on Friday evening (13).

In response to the orders, Hamas urged residents not to leave their homes, saying Israel was trying to “spread and spread false propaganda with the aim of sowing confusion among citizens.”

During the day, Israeli forces bombed areas in the Gaza Strip. According to the organization, the army carried out attacks on Hamas military bases, “including Jabaliya, Zaytun, AlFurqan and Beit Hanoun.” The video, available on the IDF’s official website, shows the moment a bomb hits the region.

Last night a bomb attack killed 70 Palestinian citizens heading south. The Palestinian Health Ministry blamed Israel for the deaths. The conflict that broke out on October 7th has already claimed at least 2,215 lives. The deaths included 724 children.
