In a statement, Netanyahu says a war has been forced on the country and that while it has not started a conflict, he will end it
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu compared Hamas to the Islamic State and said countries must work together to defeat the Palestinian extremist group.
“Hamas terrorists bound, burned and executed children. They are wild. Hamas is the Islamic State,” the Prime Minister said in a televised address this Monday (October 9, 2023).
In his speech, Netanyahu stated that the war had been forced on the country and that Israel would end it “even though Israel did not start it.” “We always knew who Hamas was. Now the whole world knows. This bitter enemy wanted war and he will get war,” he said.
“This war was forced upon us by a vile enemy. Human beasts celebrating the murder of women, children and the elderly. We have not seen the atrocities committed by Hamas since the atrocities committed by the Islamic State,” he said.
In his speech, the prime minister also thanked United States President Joe Biden for his support for the country and said that a North American aircraft carrier was on its way to Israel.
“Hamas will understand that with its attack it has made a mistake of historic proportions. We will exact a price that will be remembered by them and Israel’s other enemies for decades to come,” he said.
