Before a “Total siege” of the Gaza Stripwith a power, water, gas and food outage and a spread of 100,000 Israeli soldiers across the border, the terrorist group Hamas has begun negotiations with Israel to release children and women kidnapped and held hostage after the invasion. The agreement would take place under Qatari mediation. In return, Israel would have to release 36 Palestinian children and women held in the country’s prisons.
Qatari mediators urged the deal to be expedited and sealed. Surprised by the terrorist invasion, Israel again denies that there is an ongoing dialogue with the criminals.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry confirmed to Portal its involvement in mediation talks with Hamas and Israeli authorities, including on a possible prisoner exchange.

The ongoing negotiations that Qatar has been conducting since Saturday evening (7) in coordination with the United States are going “positively,” said the source informed of the matter.
“We are currently in constant contact with all sides. Our priorities are ending the bloodshed, releasing prisoners and containing the conflict without regional spread,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed AlAnsari told Portal, without going into details.
When asked to respond to the Portal report, an Israeli official told the company only: “There are no ongoing negotiations.”
But there is no sign of progress. Qatar contacted Hamas officials in Doha and Gaza, the source said, after the Islamist group attacked Israel from Gaza on Saturday, storming towns, killing more than 800 Israelis and escaping with dozens of hostages.
The exact number of Israeli women and children hostage that Hamas is offering as prisoners as part of the possible exchange of 36 Palestinian women and children identified by the Islamist group is unclear, according to the source.
Details of negotiations for the release of 36 Palestinians from Israeli prisons have not yet been disclosed.
The number of Israeli hostages held in Gaza is also unclear, but Hamas is believed to have captured women, children, the elderly and soldiers on Saturday.
A Palestinian official familiar with mediation efforts between Hamas and Israel in the past said Qatar and Egypt had been in contact with the group, but the intensity of the fighting had clouded any potential breakthrough.
Since Saturday, Israel has carried out its most violent retaliatory strikes ever in the Hamascontrolled Gaza Strip, killing 560 people. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said the Israeli blockade was being tightened to prevent food and fuel from being brought into the strip, which is home to 2.3 million people.

Egypt is in close contact with Israel and Hamas to prevent further escalation of fighting between them and to ensure the protection of Israeli hostages, two Egyptian security sources said.
Egypt has called on Israel to exercise restraint and urged Hamas to keep its prisoners in good condition to leave open the possibility of early deescalation, although Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have made mediation difficult, the Egyptian sources said. They spoke on condition of anonymity.
Asked about Washington’s coordination with Qatar on a possible exchange, the US State Department referred to a Saturday phone call between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the prime minister of Qatar in which both agreed to “remain closely coordinated.”
There was no response to requests for comment sent to Hamas. The Israeli prime minister’s office said it declined to comment.
Qatar, a small but wealthy energy and investment power with ambitious foreign policy goals, has direct ties to Hamas. Qatari envoys have already helped broker a ceasefire between the Islamist group and Israel.
Doha has recently been in the spotlight of global diplomacy following more than a year of talks between the United States and Iran that led to a prisoner swap and the release of resources.
