ANNOUNCEMENT
The flow of injured people taken to Gaza Strip hospitals for medical care is almost constant. Since the start of the Israeli counterattack as a result of Hamas attacks, more than 5,000 people have been killed and 15,200 injured in the Gaza Strip, Hamas reports.
The United Nations also assumes that at least 1,000 people are missing. Given that much of the debris has not yet been removed, the number of victims may continue to rise as recovery and removal work progresses.
In Israel, around 1,400 people have been killed in Hamas attacks since October 7. More than 200 people remain detained against their will in the Gaza Strip after being abducted from Israel. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called on Hamas to release the hostages immediately.
The Israeli army is preparing to enter the Gaza Strip with ground troops. The recent increase in bombings may be an indication that this operation is about to begin. The Israeli army has called up around 360,000 reservists since October 7.
